Save dependencies of object positions in PowerPoint.

Dynamic Position Dynamic Position

Automatically align size and position of objects which depend on each other. Refresh settings of child object if the master changed.
If one object changes within the perfect aligned formation, you need to change every other object as well. With the dynamic positioning you can now save the size and position settings and the relations between all these objects and refresh it at any time to restore these relations. Think about the status slide of your project. Every time a new milestone is added to the overview you need to adjust all other parts. Save size and position dependencies with this Smarter Slides function and readjust the objects easily.

Group name
Enter a name for the dynamic shape formation to identify and access this group at a later stage.
Select master object
Click to select a shape, chart or table as master object. Master object represent the leading object within the object formation. After clicking the button, a smaller window will appear. Select the master object and click “OK” to continue. Note than an already as dependent selected object cannot be master at the same time.
Remove master object
Click to remove the selected master object from selection.
Select dependent object
Click to select a shape, chart or table as dependent object. Dependent object represents an object which size or position depends on the size or position of the master objects. Dependent shapes can automatically be adjusted to the size or position of the master. After clicking the button, a smaller window will appear. Select the dependent object and click “OK” to continue. Note that you can select up to 20 different dependent objects on different slides and an already as master selected object cannot be dependent at the same time.
Remove dependent shape
Click to remove the dependent object which was added last.
Preview
After selecting an object, the preview will be filled with dummy elements (master shape is red) representing the size and position of the object. If size, vertical position or horizontal position options are changed the preview is adjusted accordingly.
Width
Select if the dependent width should be dynamically adjusted if the master object width changes.
Height
Select if the dependent height should be dynamically adjusted if the master object width changes.
Starting point (vertical position)
Select an option to define the starting point for dynamic vertical adjustment of the dependent objects. Selection can be made between:
  • Do not change: Position is not dynamically adjusted if the position of the master object changes
  • Top: Position is dynamically adjusted based on the top position of the master object if the position of the master object changes
  • Bottom: Position is dynamically adjusted based on the top position of the master object if the position of the master object changes
Option (vertical position)
Choose an option how the position of the dependent objects should be dynamically adjusted if the position of the master object changes. Selection can be made between:
  • Keep Distance: Position of dependent object will dynamically be adjusted to the same distance as it is currently defined.
  • +/-: Position of dependent object will dynamically be adjusted to the distance which is defined in the Distance (horizontal position) text box.
